One star because I cant give none
    #PASSPORT
Last October (2016) my wife and I took our daughter aged 15 years and 11 months to this cinema to see a film rated 15. The Staff insisted that I produce ID for my daughter to prove her age, our word as parents was not good enough. When I asked what possible ID I could produce for a 15 year old the staff told me ...a PASSPORT. I kid you not. No wonder the cinema industry is dying on its arse. They would not allow us entry unless we produced a passport for our daughter. Funnily enough, as we are all UK citizens resident in Chineham, we did not anticipate crossing any international borders on the five mile route to Basingstoke, so we had foolishly left her passport at home ..how remiss of us!!
I had date stamped photographs of my daughter for every birthday from aged 1 (2001) all the way up to 15 (2015) on my iPhone, but this wasn't good enough.....computer said NO ! Needless to say we left and went to the Odeon at the leisure centre where we purchased tickets with no problems. Not surprisingly there was ONLY seven people including us watching the film ..it was a Friday night and the film (the Sausage Party) had been out on release for a week ! We later wrote to Vue on-line but as expected got no response. The staff were rude, confrontational and wee not responsive to reasoning. A gang of three came running to support the member of staff with whom I was discussing the issue. A total farce, I will never set foot in the Vue cinema again. Parental responsibility is something the staff there no nothing about....it's a waste if time trying to apply reasoned argument with the intellectually challenged staff that manage this cinema. Should i now expect border control to ask for my cinema ticket next time I am at the airport ?
